Insurance

I am in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield.

If you have an insurance that provides out of network benefits, you may be able to receive reimbursement for sessions. I will provide you with a “Superbill”, which is a receipt of your payment, and you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

It is helpful for you to call your insurance company before our first appointment so that you can gather more information about your out of network benefits. Here are some helpful questions to ask your insurance:

  • What are my out of network benefits for outpatient behavioral health?

  • What is the standard reimbursement rate for the CPT codes:
    90791, 90834 and 90837?

  • How do I submit the claim for reimbursement?

  • What is the timeline for reimbursement?

Payment

I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to help you determine whether I might be a good fit for you. During this phone call, I will ask you questions about your symptoms and goals. I am happy to answer all of your questions about my practice as well.

If you are not in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, or are interested in paying privately for sessions, please contact me to inquire about my rates.

No Surprises Act

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services.

Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item.

You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call Dr. Poirier at 781-205-9309.
